The Living Syllabus
Spiritual practice in our sanctuary is expressed through practical action, lifelong learning, and community care. This open-source curriculum covers 12 core modules across four practical domains.
Active Collaborative Effort
We are actively building these modules and seeking contributors with domain knowledge in any of these subjects. This is a collective, open project and anyone willing to share practical wisdom is welcome to participate.

Module 1: Food Resilience & Sacred Abundance
- Preservation Methods: Canning (pressure and water-bath), fermenting, dehydrating, natural vinegars, and open-pollinated seed saving.
- Cultivation Basics: Container gardening, permaculture design principles, soil health regeneration, composting, and high-yield staple crops.
- Staple Autonomy: Artisan bread making, fermented dairy alternatives, and resilient plant proteins (legumes, sprouts, microgreens).

- Fix-It Culture: Mending garments, tool restoration, sharpening edge tools, and reclaiming discarded lumber or metal.
- Cordage & Rigging: Essential utility knots (bowline, clove hitch, taut-line hitch, trucker's hitch), cordage splicing, and load-securing techniques.
- Creative Repurposing: Transforming waste streams into raised garden beds, rainwater collection, or household goods.
Domain III: Physical & Community Well-Being
Module 8: Community Care & Cooperative Living
- Cooperative Care Networks: Neighborhood wellness checks, shared tool libraries, and local meal trains.
- Skill Sharing: Organised community skill trades (first aid, woodworking, engine repair, sewing).
